Mark McVEIGH
No.10 - Essendon FC
Mark started his football with Killarney Vale. He played for five years as a junior with the Killarney Vale Club, winning two competition best and fairest awards, both in the under 13s in consecutive years. His parents are still involved with the club and his father, Tony is a former premiership player, coach and now Life Member.

Mark has his photo displayed in the club amongst other club competition best and fairest players, but it was taken when he was very young.

When his father played for Killarey Vale, Mark would be seen kicking for goal after the game and long into the night on the ground along with other mates of the time.

He was raised at Tumbi Umbi and has spent all of his life within a kick of the club, apart from his time in Canberra and now Melboure.

The Killarney Vale FC salutes and congratulates Mark in achieving his goal.

SCHOOL SHIELD NAMED AFTER MARK

Club officials arranged for a gala day on 27 June between local high schools to compete for the Mark McVeigh Shield.  This under 15 program is a further attempt by the club to introduce the game to local boys.

Mingara Recreation Club assisted with this initiative by donating $500 prizemoney to the winner: Terrigal High School.
